A bit of History.

He ruled in 1103-1191 Caka or 1181-1269 AD. He had two advisors, namely Mpu Shiva Gandhu and Mpu Lim a chinese. He had a lady named Kang Cing We, daughter of Subandar that married a Balinese woman.

Then Sri Haji Jayapangus wished to marry Kang Cing We. This desire was not allowed even opposed by Mpu Shiva Gandhu because of religious differences. However this advice ignored by the King. Mpu Shiva Gandhu got angry and immediately implemented asceticism to beg a boon to the God - to occur hurricanes and heavy rains for a month and seven days. This disaster led to the palace of Sri Prabhu Jayapangus in Panarajon destroyed.

Accompanied by his faithful servants finally he decided to flee to the woods and set up his new palace called Pura Dalem Balingkang. Dalem Balingkang is derived from the word 'Dalem', the name of the place, Kuta Dalem Jong Les; the word 'Bali' was taken since he mastered the world of Bali at that time; while the word 'kang' was taken from his second wife's name Kang Cing We.

As a result of the eruption of Mount Batur, buildings of empire of Sri Haji Dalem Jayapangus Puri Balingkang disappeared. This kingdom was then rebuilt by Ida Dewa Agung Dalem Mayun Sudha, an offspring of Pejeng Gianyar. He decreed that the Gods ole rebuild debris that has fallen to normal.

Temple Structure.

Based on  PHDI publication, the initial structure of temples is a complex Pura Tanggun Titi. Here stand a cult of Ratu Ngurah Sakti Tanggun Titi, Ratu Mas Melanting, Ratu Sakti Gede Penyarikan, and Sang Hyang Haji Saraswati. The second complex is Cangapit building, the entrance to which is fitted a king sitting while watching Jro Gede 'mepada' surrounds the temple.

At the middle yard, there is Paruman Agung, a shire of all Devas. Also a pelinggih Ratu Ayu Subandar, as a worship of Goddess Kang Wi Ci, which is believed by Chinese people as a place of asking blessing. China's influence is evident at this shrine, the old balinese coin  on one side describing the gold symbol.

In the main yard, there is a worship of Puri Agung Petak on eleventh overlapping Meru. At the left side there is a ninth overlapping Meru. Also there is a shrine of Dalem Balingkang on
