Nets was issued lights like flames extend along the west coast of the island that serves to protect the Island of Gods from any negative elements that would interfere.

Other versions come from Babad Bali web. The name of Pura Rambut Siwi associated with the arrival of Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha to Bali. Dang Hyang Nirartha took a strand of his hair and placed it at the temple to be used as a means of worship. Since then the temple called Pura Rambut Siwi.

There are three temples as an integral part of the temple environment. They are Pura Segara, Pura Penataran, and Pura Luhur Rambut Siwi which symbolizes Bhur, Bhuwah, and Swah Loka.
